Accessibility
Accessibility is a feature of this platform, not a setting we added later.
What you can change
- Text size, in four steps, saved on your device.
- A dark mode, which is already high contrast on its own, plus a maximum contrast setting if you want more.
- A dyslexia-friendly typeface.
- Reduced motion, which also follows your system setting.
- Read aloud for page text, with pause and stop. It never plays on its own.
Open the accessibility button in the header on any page to change these.
How the site is built
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
- A skip link is the first thing in the tab order.
- One main landmark and a single, correctly ordered heading structure per page.
- Body text is larger than average by default, with generous line spacing.
- Pages reflow to narrow screens and to 200% zoom without losing content.
- Tap targets for primary actions are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- Colour is never the only way we show status or meaning.
- Pages work without JavaScript; interactive extras are enhancements.
Tell us where we fall short
